It’s with great pleasure I can announce that Eclipse have secured a second guitarist.. John Lovegrove.
John started playing guitar at the age of 8 after a labelling mistake meant he listened to side two of Foxtrot instead of side one as his first ever Genesis experience. Horizons followed by Suppers Ready made him a life long Genesis fan. It also opened his eyes to Prog Rock and especially Pink Floyd, his favourite album being Animals.
He has roughly 30 years of touring experience in one form or another. As a lighting designer, programmer, operator and sound engineer, John has toured and worked with Janet Jackson, David Bowie, The Who, Bon Jovi, Stereophonics, Coldplay, Faithless, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Bryan Adams, Cliff Richard, The Spice Girls, Prince, Diana Ross, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Ray Charles, Metallica, Steps, S Club 7, Boyzone, NSync, Simply Red, Kylie Minogue, AC/DC and more that he can’t remember. He has played in numerous bands over the years although he has never learned how to play Horizons.
more fantastic news…. I can now announce that we have secured the low end talents of Paul Flynn on bass duties….
At age 13, Paul’s ears were opened to the Floyd, after borrowing a cassette copy of “Wish You Were Here” from a school friend. Thus began a lifelong fascination for the band. He picked up a bass at age 18, when he realised an obsession with the low end of music, and immersed himself in the world of heavy metal and hard rock.Paul has spent the last few years bringing the thunder to countless Suffolk pubs, whilst storming through Sabbath, Zeppelin and Maiden covers.
The love of Pink Floyd has endured throughout this “rockcentric” journey into his late forties. He names “Atom Heart Mother” and “Meddle” amongst his favourite albums. He currently spends his days desperately teaching himself to use a pick instead of his fingers!
